Easter Card

G'day to my friends and followers in blogland. This is my first post for the year of 2012 and I am well rested after veg'n out for the last 2 months. I've done nothing exciting in that time that I could say is worth typing about. Enjoyed a huge Christmas with family, read books and slept a lot.
After much encouragement from some of my friends, I finally kicked myself in the butt to get myself out of my lack of mojo, inspiration and self indulgent habits. I'm happy now to enter back into my world of cyber friends and share some more digital images with you this year.

To entice my mojo into creative mode I thought I'd try making some handmade Fimo carrots. Not to difficult and it only took me 2 hours to hand sculpt the carrots. They looked good enough to eat with their orange bottoms and green tops...well that was before I cooked them to set the Fimo. It should have only taken 10 minutes but somehow I got sidetracked and they were in there for about 20mins. *Sad Face* as I dare to show you what happened.
*Laughs* not much different than my real cooking attempts. Oh well, time to apply what I always preach to my student; There are NO mistakes only creative challenges! A couple of coats of white gesso and some paint and nobody would ever know. *Smiles*. See the end results of the carrots in the Easter cards I made below.

Easter Card (The Easter collection digital set is available for free for the month of February. You can pick it up by joining my group at Crafters Digital Arts Center. Please pop in and say hello we'd love to get to know you better.)

Inside of the Easter Card. I keep it simple letting the beautiful words from Helen Steiner Rice's 'An Easter Prayer' pass on a special message to a few of my special online friends. The sentiment is just one of 10 that will be available on my new word art sheet 'Easter 2'. So keep your eye out for the upcoming word art sheet appearing in my digital store.

If I'm going to make one, I might as well make 8 *Laughs*.

Thank you for stopping by and I'm looking forward to catching up with your sites and to check out what you've been up to.

Easter Cross Card CDAC Embellishment challenge 19

Nana Vic's Digitals is proud to be hosting round 19 of the Embellishment Challenge. My digital line of stamps mainly centers around my 2 favourite seniors 'Nana Vic' and her good mate 'Mr Jones', however I do from time to time venture out of their world to create special stamps for different occasions. I am blessed to share with CDAC this new design especially created for this challenge, at the same time of creating this design I also put together a new 'Easter 1' word art sheet.

With Spring in the air and Easter so close, it's time to celebrate new beginnings. The embellishment challenge is to use flowers and lots of them. Your project is to include 2 or more flowers in any size or colour or medium.

'Easter Cross' and 'Easter Set 1' word art are both available now in my store. The 'Easter Cross' is also available for free for the next two weeks to all that join in the challenge at CDAC. So if you'd like to pick up the 'Easter Cross' for free considering joining a wonderful site that is always fun and a great place to hang out.

I coloured the cross twice and glued them back to back with a piece of string running between the two circles. I cut a larger circle in the front of my card and stitched the background paper inside and around the circle. The string I made sure that I caught in the stitching so that the cross part of the card can rotate. I used the circle that I cut out of the front as a border for the sentiment to be displayed on inside.

All the flowers are from my stash and the white netted one with the gold wire is an embellishment that my sister made for her daughters wedding. There was sugar coated almonds inbetween each of the folded petals, even tho I ate the almonds the flower I keep to use again. I created the arrangement around the white netted one and I also used 2 pin sticks that I'd made to add just a touch of bling.

Below is the inside of the card and I decided that I needed to keep it simple. The only embellishment is the stitching around the sentiment.

My good friend Carol also made a card for me using the 'Easter Cross' Please be sure to pop over to her blogsite and leave her some lov'n and to check out her details.

I am giving away $30 is Vouchers for 3 lucky winners in this challenge.

    Easter Layout

OK lets see if I can work this out. It's been fun to get back into the swing of creating a digital layout. The one I created only took me all week but then again I had to oil the draws of the old filing cabinets that have been slowly rusting away in the brain. I didn't really think of a title for the layout so will go with 'Easter 2010'.I would like to give away freebies so I put together this little one for others to enjoy. I can't take credit for the original as I adapted it from one of Granny Art's quick pages and I'm sorry but I couldn't find the link back to it that page but I did find the grass that I used in the layout Here on her fantastic blog spot.

Well it's so far over my bed time I'd better go. I hope this all works and I'm sure to get faster at putting up posts.
