Stamping Up Party

I'm showing off the little card I got to make at the 'Stamping Up' party. Mercia was our gracious host opening her beautiful home to us for the night. I had a ball, friends, coffee and cake what more could a girl want.

Wow the real stamping world is buzzing and they have a gadget for just about anything you could wish to do. The best part of the night was of course the hands on demonstration. When we got there each seat was set up with a grid sheet, a brown paper bag with 2 pieces of card stock in it and the order form and lastest booklet. Our demonstrator, Ann was allowing us the use of two ranges of rubber foam backed clear mount stamps- Vintage Vogue this made the flowers, leaves and the background stamps and Tiny Tags made the word 'friends' and little flower scrolls. I used the Medium Jewlery Tag punch to cut out the two little tags and the 2 step Bird punch to cut out the little bird. I've gotta say that the large stamping continous rollers are so fast and I got to practice with the Very Vintage one on the grid sheet.

How putting the card together had become very competitive at the table well at least at my end of the table. Hands covered work and cards were turned over so no one else could see what they were working on. Stealing ideas became the game whereas to improve on them or use them as well. Now don't get me wrong this was all done in fun, most of us already know each other and have shared many a scrap night together and it was great to see what we could come up with in our 2 hour limit.

As you can see nothing was wasted, I used the practice grid paper to punch out the bird and even the brown paper bag got the crop to make the branches. The crown idea was stolen from Kyla and Tanya did eventually share her black marker with me so I could make the bird's eye. *Laughs*

Well I didn't buy any stamps but I did splurge and ordered the very handy little Mat Pack that is used for paper-piercing, a set of the water Aqua Painting pens and the blending pens. I also picked up the scolloped edge punch (I'm sure you'll be seeing alot of it in the upcoming months) and best of all Ann gave me a copy of the 2009-2010 Stampin Up catalogue. Woot, go the freebie!

Hmmm, I've managed to rant and rave on again, I just hope some of it is helpful to you. *Hugs*
