A Card for Elenor

Making this card I discovered that I'm not about to take up the hobby of wire art anywhere in the near future. However, a special friend has just celebrated her birthday on the 19th of this month and I know that she is a wonderful artist with her wire art. I thought I'd give it a go on the hanging basket. The basket is an enlarged section of my newest digital called Street Lamps. Thank you to the girls over at Midnight Madness for a fantastic sketch this week, it worked in very well for my project.
The flowers and coconut fiber are coloured with my copics and then I twisted copper wire to go over the wire parts. I used an old chain to create the chains that are attached to the hook at the top. I'm just pleased that you can't see the back of this card as it's a total mess of loops and sticky tape to hold the peices in place. I ended up having to use foam dots to raise the front of the card to compensate for the thickness of the wire.
The inside was fun to create with the street lamp and bush being done in 3D with tabs behind them to make them pop off the back wall. The clouds where done free hand with little stamp pads in pearl white and blue, as were the black birds in the distance. Around the sentiment is a little floral arrangement and I added another 2 little inked butterflies. This bottom section does lift up to reveal a personal message for Elenor. Happy Birthday.
Recipe:

    3. Amazing!!!!! Vickie, this card you made Elenor is beautiful! I can only imagine how difficult the wire work was. Apparently you haven't let your sister use all of your Copics looking at your beautiful coloring. Love the flowers surrounding the sentiment. Elenor is a very lucky lady to be the recipient to receive this fabulous card!!
