The challenge this week (or maybe it's already last weeks now) at For Fun Challenges is/was Chalk Popping and this technique can be found at this You Tube site. Even after watching the video I still didn't get the hang of it. I've got a whole page of deformed frogs. It could have had something to do with the fact that I was using Embossing Ink pad in place of the Versa Mark as recommended. Anyway after trying to do it like the demo videos I watched and I just couldn't bare to look at another mangled little frog, I decided to adapt the method that worked best for me. I'd stamp the image, and then with my scapel I'd scrape the chalk over the embossed area creating a chalk dust. I then just tapped the paper moving the chalk dust area until it was all covered. Simular to how you would prepare an embossed image with embossing powders. I got a bit carried away with the flowers once I liked what was happening. My little frogs have them goggle eyes that move and they are pop dotted to give the card some dimension. One tip: Don't wear white...the chalk I got everywhere *Laughs* I hope you like my first card I've made for a challenge (Even if I'm late)
Material: Paper: Card Stock, Paper by Making Memories, Watercolour Paper Stamps: Imaginisce, We R Memory Keepers, Paper Xtra Punch: Fiskars Border Chalk, Embossing Ink, Pen I entered my card Here: (How cheeky am I) For Fun Challenges Anything goes Practical Scrappers Challenge Flowers This week they are doing an anything card, but there is a catch. You have to use a paperclip or a SAFETY pin (no stick pins allowed) on the card somewhere. Pop on over and have a look at what their design team have come up with already. They'd love to see your creation. I hope you will join them at For Fun Challenges this week. They promise you that all of the Design Team will be by to visit your blog to see your wonderful project for this challenge. 11 comments:Thanks in Advance to taking time to leave me a comment, they sure do brighten my day.
