Santa's Coming

You've got to like when you create something and all you use is what you have on hand. This Christmas card was inspired by Zoe from 'Make it Crafty' digital Cheeky Santa and her challenge to make it move. I coloured Santa with copics and it was my first attempt at using reds and he's also got touches of Kindy Gliz on his fur. I had to make the chimney wide so his big belly could fit down into it and the bricks on the front of the chimney were hand drawn and roughly colours with copics. Who doesn't hang tinsel and a Christmas sign from their chimney?
The reindeer is pop dotted up to add more dimension. I thought about adding textured snow but we don't have snow here on the Gold Coast so decided it didn't need it.

The attic window was made out of recycled cardboard. (The folder that photo printing paper comes in). The front was again hand drawn after I'd cut out the shape and the windows twice. It's difficult to see in the photo but the attic window is actually a little shaker. Between the two panes is a swag of Christmas tinsel (gold pipe cleaner) and loose glitter, stars and silver flakes. Another piece of the corrigated cardboard makes up the eves and lace was used as a trim along the eve and bottom of the card.
I used 3 of my own digitals for the inside of the card (they are my freebie to you all this week) all coloured with copics and again to add sparkle Kindy Gliz was used. On top of the swirly Christmas tree is a little star dimonti.

Above is a close up of how Santa slides up and down the chimney. I had to add a paddle pop stick behind him as he was just a little too flimsy with just cardboard. The stick and back of Santa are painted black. Now to decide who I'm going to give it to.
