Progressive Challenge CDAC project 5

Linnie was the artist that provide the cute little dancing digital stamp that I used in the progressive challenge. The digital and more more like it can be found here at http://linnie-whoopsiedaisy.blogspot.com/.
It always helps when designing a card if you know who the card will be going to and as I knew that Charlene would be receiving this 6" x 6" card for her birthday, the process of creation came easily. The background paper was a digital creation of vintage sheet music, I added my sentiment, oval with thin white trim and the trailing white ribbons and simply printed it out.
As my own daughter when little would only wear yellow, I didn't really think of any other colour to use. I did sneak in the orange colour in her pretty petticoats and shoes and then used that as my main colour throughout the design. The flower arrangement has a large orange rose as center focus and the rest of the flowers casscade on either side of it in shades of coffee, yellow and white. I balanced the layout in the top left corner with punched out lace in bright orange card stock. The little white rose along with the pearls help to anchor and soften that corner.

As the digital paper took over most of the front, I didn't want to completely lose the pretty patterned paper that I had chosen. A quick and simple solution was to cut a square hole, trim it down just a little and distressed all the edges and glue it back in with the reverse showing. I added a peel and stick sentiment 'Best Wishes' along the border line.
I used the same lace punch to make a hinge for the center section and for the little tab. There is room behind the flap to leave a personal message.
Wishing you a wonderful day Charlene and your card is almost in the post.
