Round 11 gives you 6 wonderful digital stamps to play with and the first one I chose was provided by Whimsy and Stars Studio and is this cute little house. I have a special friend that has just relocated her whole family and I thought this image would be perfect for her.
I did digitally colour in the image in a paper piecing technique. I then took each section one step further by adding a special effects to bevel the area so that it looks puffy. It is printed out on photo paper, unfortunately my camera didn't like the glossy shine and it was difficult to get a clear shot of it.
I was inspired by the challenge over at Patti's Creation that requires you to have embossing on your project. The embossing folder I used was D'vine Swirls and I lightly coated over the top with Blue Patina perfect pearls to enhance the swirls. I used photo corners to adhere the digital image over the top, made a layered punched out flower to embellish one corner and lastly added my sentiment with a silver chain and a pretty bow.
I need to hurry up and get my post over to Patties site as it closes tomorrow. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute. Please consider joining us this round at CDAC (closes 13th Feb) or check out what Patti's new challenge is going to be.

Vickie, I'll be back with my 'official' comment from Pattie's challenge. I digitally color all the time, it's the only way for me!

Great job Vickie, I love what you have done with this image!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card you have made Vickie and it is so good to see you creating again. I love how you have used the bevel tool in PSP but I'm wondering how you got that to print out showing the bevelling? I have tried it but it never really shows on the printed material! I'm now wondering if I should have maybe made the bevel stronger, I will give it a go now that is for sure...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspiration...

I love what you have done with this card Vickie. I have done digital coloring but I don't understand what you mean when you say "you digitally colored in the image in a paper piecing technique" I love the effect of the way you beveled the area so that it looks puffy. hmmm think I need to practice lots more.
ReplyDeleteGreat card and so creative. PSP is that Paint Shop by Corel? I'm working on learning that program but it's not easy........lol So very glad to see you back. Gorgeous creation! "Hugs"
