Progressive Challenge Round 11

How much can just $1 buy you today? The answer is a lot if you need to buy your way back into the progressive challenge that is held each fortnight up at the wonderful site Crafter's Digital Arts Center (CDAC). As I have been guilty of dropping of the planet for awhile and I hadn't kept up with the challenges for just $1 I was able to buy my way back into the fun.

Round 11 gives you 6 wonderful digital stamps to play with and the first one I chose was provided by Whimsy and Stars Studio and is this cute little house. I have a special friend that has just relocated her whole family and I thought this image would be perfect for her.

I did digitally colour in the image in a paper piecing technique. I then took each section one step further by adding a special effects to bevel the area so that it looks puffy. It is printed out on photo paper, unfortunately my camera didn't like the glossy shine and it was difficult to get a clear shot of it.

I was inspired by the challenge over at Patti's Creation that requires you to have embossing on your project. The embossing folder I used was D'vine Swirls and I lightly coated over the top with Blue Patina perfect pearls to enhance the swirls. I used photo corners to adhere the digital image over the top, made a layered punched out flower to embellish one corner and lastly added my sentiment with a silver chain and a pretty bow.

I need to hurry up and get my post over to Patties site as it closes tomorrow. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute. Please consider joining us this round at CDAC (closes 13th Feb) or check out what Patti's new challenge is going to be.

How does the CDAC Progressive Challenges work?
The CDAC Progressive Challenge is a proactive freebie challenge. What that means is as long as you are proactive by making and submitting cards to this challenge you will continue to get freebies offered in a large variety of styles. These images are created by the artists that have groups here on CDAC and by those that participate in the CDAC drawing Challenges. This is a fun way to get and use fabulous images that will be offered during these challenges. You will have a full two week to enter the challenge, so not only will you get these images free (if you started with cdacpc1), but if you participate in each of the challenges during that series you will go into the drawing for the Grand Prize. EVERYONE that plays is a winner, because EVERYONE that plays earns the next challenges images for free. Repeat the process again, and you will receive the next freebies emailed to you again and so on and so on.....Come join in the fun and pick youself up some free images to play with, it only costs you $1 to buy into the challenge.

  6. What a fabulous card you have made Vickie and it is so good to see you creating again. I love how you have used the bevel tool in PSP but I'm wondering how you got that to print out showing the bevelling? I have tried it but it never really shows on the printed material! I'm now wondering if I should have maybe made the bevel stronger, I will give it a go now that is for sure...
    Thank you for the inspiration...

  7. I love what you have done with this card Vickie. I have done digital coloring but I don't understand what you mean when you say "you digitally colored in the image in a paper piecing technique" I love the effect of the way you beveled the area so that it looks puffy. hmmm think I need to practice lots more.
